Surprise, surprise!

Braeden just blows me away every day.  Especially the last few weeks.  Sarah (PT) was super impressed with the progress he's made in just one week.  She said that she could definitely tell that he has gotten stronger and has more control over his core when he's walking.  His balance reactions are getting better and that was our homework for the week.  Jon asked me if that meant we could just push him over when he was walking.  Probably not what Sarah had in mind.  He also took 47 steps (improvement of 5 steps from last week) in the hallway, of course.  He loved every single step and was super proud of himself, as he should be!  We did figure out why he liked the hallways so much...more people to socialize with!  My boy is not shy and has never met a stranger, especially one that offers to walk with him!    Here's a short video of B practicing his walking.  He actually walked all the way from the couch (in the video) to the front door (behind the video) today, because the door was open and he wanted to go outside!  Jon has been out of town for 4 days, and he was super impressed with the improvement in his walking and defininitely in his confidence.  B is bouncing back and forth between furniture!

We also had speech today.  Although he has still not eaten or munched on a cheese puff for Melissa (thank goodness I have video to prove it to her, hehe), he still surprised us.  She gave him his zvibe, which is kind of like a vibrating pencil with texture on the end, but it's not pointed like a pencil.  He actually put it in his mouth and giggled!  I told Melissa I almost peed my pants.   Now she tells B to do stuff just so I'll pee my pants.  I guess I might have to start wearing an adult diaper with all this progress!  We tried some other foods that he wasn't so fond of, and I claimed he was not my child.  Who doesn't like Oreo sticks dipped in globs of icing?  Really?  We'll keep searching for stuff he does like.  Half the time I think he's just being a booger and throwing stuff on the floor because he knows we don't want him to do that.    He did have fun smearing the icing on his face and hamming it up for the camera!

At dinner tonight, we had to show Daddy what we had done in speech.  Braeden had fun putting the zvibe in his mouth and in Daddy's mouth.  They later practiced with the Oreos, which Daddy liked a lot more!!!

Have I ever mentioned that I am jealous of my cat, Laney?  All I want to do is lay in the sun and take a nap.  I almost got on the table with her. ;)
