Bananas and Cheese puffs
This week it seems as though I can't keep up with all the new stuff Braeden is doing, which is a wonderful problem to have! After breakfast this morning, I was thinking about how this evening I was going to write a post about Braeden eating at least half a mushed up banana in his baby food yesterday and today. Without even gagging! At dinner, we gave him a cheese puff. B's speech therapist reccommended these because they are easier for him to hold, they have a lot of flavor without having to bite into it, and they dissolve easily. I tried yesterday just putting it on his lips to try to get him to lick the cheese puff dust. You would have thought that I was torturing him the way he screamed. Tonight, when he was done with his food, I told Jon that I was going to show him what to do with the cheese puff. Our goal was just to get him to taste it and that was it. I was holding the cheese puff and he really wasn't that into it. Sure, he licked his lips a tiny bit, but nothing exciting. I decided to let him play with it and wow, he actually held it and put it in his mouth. ALL BY HIMSELF! He loved the sound that it made when he crunched down on it. I'm guessing he liked the taste, too. When the first one got all yucky, I let him give it to Maggie. Suddenly, feeding Maggie was a whole lot more fun than munching it. We'll try again tomorrow and see what he does! I can't wait to tell OT, PT, and speech! Go little man!
