Steppin up

Yesterday I was all prepared to write a post about how many steps Braeden has taken.  Last week, he took 16 steps all by himself at PT.  Which is exactly 16 more than he had done for us the previous month.  It's something about the hallways.  On Tuesday, he again took 16 steps outside in the cul-de-sac.  I'm pretty sure he was showing off for Andrew, because he hasn't done that for just me!  Of course, Andrew was very proud of him.    As I sat down to write yesterday, I decided to pull out some toys.  One of them was a car.  The kind that when you put on the ground, you can pull backwards, let go and then it goes forward.  We were excited when he would just push it back and forth a few inches because that meant he wasn't flipping it over and spinning the wheels with his thumb.  Well, he blew my socks off!  He actually pulled the car back once or twice and then let go.  He giggled when the car went flying.  He then crawled after it and did again, and again, and again, and again.  So I know it wasn't just a fluke, he was doing it on purpose.  I nearly peed my pants I was so excited!  This morning, as soon as I showed him the car, he got a giant grin on his face and laughed.  And then he did it again.  I am one happy mama!!!  Please forgive my awful videographer skills.  Yes, I also know that my son catapults himself forward when he wants to start crawling.  He doesn't just do this when going after the car.  It's anytime he wants to start crawling.  It has caused many collisions with Maggie's head, the dust pan, etc. etc.

I love the catapult crawl start. Now that is a signature move. Go B!
