Christmas cookies

We came to Virginia for Christmas.  We drove up on Thursday and spent Friday and Saturday preparing for the big day.  On Christmas Eve, we went to the 5 o'clock service at Main Street Methodist.  Little B was the only one in the nursery!  We did bring him in for the last song, Silent Night, and he was amazed by all of the candles and lights.  It made me glad that we didn't have him in the hour and a half service!  When we left, we all felt like it was time to go to bed because we're so used to going to the 11 o'clock service.  Bradlee, Joel, and cousins Eli and Carolyn came over for Christmas Eve and ate dinner.  They had to get Eli home so that Santa Claus could come visit.  We couldn't really get a great shot, but here is our best attempt!

Braeden slept in Christmas morning, which is something I'm sure we won't be able to enjoy for too many more years.  We had fun eating breakfast and enjoying the morning since B wasn't in a hurry to open presents.  We also talked to all of the Nason's...the Canadian branch, the Ugandan branch, and finally the Spanish branch.  Luckily, internet was good around the world on Christmas day, so we were able to Skype with all of them.  B only opened a few of his many presents on Christmas day since he wanted to start playing with them.  We figured we'd spread it over a few days.  After present opening, we made sugar cookies and B had his first experience  decorating them.  Thank goodness we used M&M's instead of sprinkles.  We would have been cleaning them up forever.  He practiced his OT skills by dropping the M&M's...everywhere!

Christmas day continued with Braeden's first boat ride.  He loved every second of it!  Well, maybe not the part that had him in the baby straight jacket, aka the life jacket.  We rode out to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and then back to the inlet, hoping to see some good Christmas lights.  We were disappointed in the lights, but it was a nice end to Christmas Day.
