England!

In April, we took a big international trip with the little man.  Also, I feel as though I start every post with "I'm so far behind."  So yes, it's been almost 2 months since we went and I am just getting around to writing and posting about it. We started off the trip with a delay. Our flight was supposed to leave at 10:45 pm, but it didn't leave until 12:45.  We were lucky that we left then, too because they had shut down the longest runway and had to call the city of Atlanta to get permission to reopen it.  So off we go.  Braeden went to sleep fairly easily.  And then woke up and cried for an hour.  On an overnight flight.  We were those people.  Poor thing was just worn out and also had started antibiotics for an ear infection, so I'm sure that he wasn't feeling great.  We were very lucky to be greeted by Jon's friend Jeremy at London-Heathrow airport.  We went off to Milton-Keynes to spend a few days with the Wilsdon family.  We had such a great time!  Their kids are sweet and adorable and we had just the right mix of fun and down time.  It was also Easter weekend, so we went to church and also had an egg hunt afterwards.  Braeden wasn't all that into looking for eggs, but he was all about being outside and walking!  We also went to a model village called Bekonscot.  We had fun looking at all of the buildings and even going on a train ride!

After a great time in Milton Keynes, we went off to London.  Here are a few firsts for Braeden:

First train ride

First ride on a double decker bus

First time in a pub

First ride on the Underground

This is Jon and Braeden with the Thames in the background.  You can also see the London Eye and the old City Hall, which has now been converted into a hotel.  This is where we stayed!

We took a ride on the London Eye at night.  Of course it was raining, but the lights were still beautiful!  Here's B with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.  He loved looking out and walking around the pod.

We were lucky enough that we had a sunny day.  We went on a run along the Thames and saw St. Paul's cathedral.

B's first time at Buckingham Palace.  We didn't get to see Kate or Wills. Boo!

We had a great time in England...then it was off to visit Grannie Annie in Spain!
