Braeden's 2nd birthday

They say that your children grow up too quickly.  I would have to agree.  Even though Braeden is delayed in a lot of areas, I still feel like he should still be a baby!  We didn't really do a big birthday party for Braeden.  Instead, we did 2 small celebrations and a trip to the Yellow River Game Ranch.  Braeden absolutely loves animals!  He's not such a big fan of cake (yet) so we did grown up cupcakes from Gabriel's.  I didn't really have to worry about flavor since I knew that Braeden didn't really care, so I took advantage and ordered what I liked!  Fresh Strawberry cupcakes.  Yum!  Well, oops, turns out that B has a skin reaction to strawberries.  After wiping them all over his face (there were fresh ones in the icing), he got all red and splotchy!  He has the same reaction to raw cinnamon.  I guess we'll know next time.  On his actual birthday, we went to the Yellow River Game Ranch.  They have a lot of animals and we were able to feed some and pet some of them.  B loved it!  We had a great time, too.

I really can't believe that 2 years has passed since B has been born.  If you had told me then all of the trials and tribulations we would go through, I wouldn't have believed you.  I wouldn't change anything about Braeden (ok, ok, I'm not telling the truth.  I would change his eating!).  He is the sweetest, most affectionate little boy ever.  Yes, I get stressed when I'm around other kids his age and I see how far behind he is, but he is making progress.  And I really don't think I could have asked for a cuter child!  I am happy that God picked me to be his mom and has given me the opportunity to stay home with him. We have been blessed with great therapists, friends, and families and I really can't wait to see all the progress he makes in this next year.  Who knows, maybe he'll be eating a whole cupcake by his next birthday!

Watching a video that the Nason Ugandan branch sent for B's birthday
Daddy and Braeden.  You can see that B's face is a little red and splotchy from the strawberries.
