Happy 18 months, Braeden!

I can't believe that Braeden is already 18 months old!  Where has the time gone?  We've been busy as usual.  Braeden has hernia surgery at the beginning of September, and his recovery went really well.  We're very happy to check that off the list!  This month, he also had his one year physical therapy evaulation.  We've been in PT a whole year!  The evaluation went well and he is making a lot of progress and will hopefully be walking on his own within the next three months.  We have also been released to go to PT every other week rather than every week.  Braeden was fitted for shoe inserts to help with his pronation.  We were even able to keep the same shoes.  I didn't think that he pronated that much, but once we got the inserts Jon and I both commented how much straighter he was standing.  Hopefully they will help with his walking! Here's a picture of them:

OT is still once a month, and he is growing by leaps and bounds with his fine motor skills.  We are continuing with speech (for feeding) every week in our home, and we love our "new" therapist.  So far we've tried brownies, nutrigrain bars, hummus, dips, and even a pumpkin scone.  We have a ways to go, but Braeden is definitely more accepting!  He can now sign "more" and "all done."  He is also clapping, waving, and points out airplanes!

Today we had his 18 month check up.  Overall, he is doing well.  His weight check wasn't so hot.  He lost 7 oz over the last month, and is below the 5th percentile in weight.  His height is 31 inches, which puts him in the 18th percentile.  His head circumference is 19 inches, and that's in the 70th percentile.  At least we know he has a lot of brains!  Poor guy also had 4 shots, but that's it until he turns 5!  Yey for that!  Now, we will be making an appointment with GI and a nutrionist to work on the calorie stuff so we can start packing on the weight.  We would really like to turn his car seat around before he enters kindergarten!
