Blown away

This kid....blows me away.  Every so often, Braeden does things that really surprise me.  A lot of times, I think that things are just going over his head or he's not paying attention, and then BAM, he does something new.

Today, he was standing at his easel in his playroom.  We had drawn a square, a triangle, and circle on his easel.  He will identify a circle, but I hadn't heard him identify the others independently.    Well, sure enough, he points to each one and identified them correctly.  We're still working on the articulation, but that will come as his muscles get stronger!

Tonight, he said his first four word sentence, with a little prompting.  Braeden LOVES lights.  This started as a game so that he could see his spinner outside, but he asked us to turn the light on (I want on).  We asked him to say off, and he definitely tried.  We were modeling different ways to say "light off" and he busts out with "I want light off."  Of course we didn't get the original sentence on video, but we did attempt to recreate it.

Another "new" thing that Braeden is doing is retrieving the keys from the drawer in the kitchen.  Whenever he wants to go somewhere, he goes into the kitchen, opens the drawer and gets the keys.  He then says, "I want car" or "I want go." This particular day he found that one of the drawer pulls could spin.  He thought it was hilarious.  Just listen to the giggles!
