Back to the crib

After two weeks of giving the toddler bed a go, we went back to the crib.  Poor little guy hadn't taken a nap in two weeks and it was clearly messing with other parts of his life.  His teachers were commenting on how tired he was, and he was definitely running into more stuff than usual!  So, back to the crib.  Well, Friday he had a first.  He fell out of his crib.  I really didn't think this would happen anytime soon because he still has trouble sometimes getting up on the couch, so I thought the chances of him hiking his leg all the way up to the crib rail were slim to none.  Turns out there are other ways to get out of the crib!

I was sitting downstairs eating lunch when I heard a loud crash from his room. I didn't hear any other noise from his room, which kind of scared me.  I was VERY surprised when I opened up his door and he was sitting on the floor.  He looked at me and laughed, so I guess he was alright!    I made sure he didn't have any bumps, and put him back in his crib.  I quickly figured out how he got out of the crib.  Watch the video!

Daddy has been helping him do flips over the bar on his little trampoline, and I think someone was trying to imitate it!  We took the metal springs out of his crib and now the mattress is directly on the floor.  His chin is now level with the crib rail, so I think we have at least bought ourselves another few months.  I guess we'll try a tent next!
